The new ZTrak Z998R mower with a 254 cm Fastback™ PRO mower deck and E-Cut™ side units delivers high productivity in both open areas and tight spaces.
The new ZTrak Z998R diesel mower uses E-Cut electric drive technology, developed by John Deere for golf course maintenance. The 155 cm central mowing unit on the Z998R is shaft-driven, while its two 56 cm E-Cut side cutting units use electric motors. The electric motors of the E-Cut side units are powered by a 56 V, 240 A alternator mounted on the engine.
In just a few seconds, and at the touch of buttons located on the control levers, the operator can switch from a productivity-focused 254 cm cutting width to 152 cm or 203 cm cutting widths depending on obstacles in the area. In addition to offering multiple cutting widths, the electrically driven side cutting units eliminate belt alignment issues and reduce the number of guards required, making cleaning easier.
The ZTrak Z997R and Z998R diesel mowers are equipped with a premium 10.9 cm (4.3") color LED touchscreen that provides unprecedented controls and information.
